FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are Goods Not for Resale or indirect expenses?
Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) refer to items acquired to support your business operations without being resold to customers. These expenses include utilities, maintenance repairs, shelving, courier and postal, contract labor, communication services, website and marketing expenses, printing and stationery vehicle and fleet costs, logistics and housing, waste management, insurance, fuel, and any other costs that are not part of the goods you sell.
We already have a buying group. Why should I join COMPRA?
The advantage of collective buying lies in true economies of scale. COMPRA brings buying groups together to create a spend power that can access wholesale or new markets an individual buying group can't. Just imagine the savings potential when you multiply your current buying power by 100 or even 1000!
When was COMPRA launched?
COMPRA was launched in New Zealand in May 2024, with the Australian launch occurring a few months later.
What experience does COMPRA have in deal and rebate management?
Robert Visentini boasts a wealth of experience in launching and expanding successful businesses. He founded Profectus Group in 2001, serving as its CEO, and continues to be a Board Member and shareholder. Profectus developed sophisticated enterprise-grade Rebate & Deal Management Technology (RDM), currently utilised by 50 major retailers in Australia and New Zealand, including Chemist Warehouse, BP, Coles, SuperCheap Auto, Officeworks, Fonterra and The Warehouse Group. This RDM was acquired by a US-based tech company in 2022 inspiring Rob to reimagine how RDM could be used to enable buying groups and associations to easily access and manage bigger and better deals.
How does COMPRA save my business money?
Up to 15% of business expenses can stem from persistent and rising indirect costs such as electricity, fuel, telecommunications, and data, and finding better deals can be time-consuming and confusing. However, effective spend management today lays the foundation for future cost savings.
Collective Edge saves businesses time and money through its:
  1. Dedicated procurement team ad supplier partners which bring decades of experience in strategic deal sourcing across ANZ and Europe - one of the world's most competitive retail markets.
  2. Seamless deal and rebate management via advanced technology powered by integrated AI:
    • Exclusive Rebate and Deal Management Technology (RDM) ensuring contracts are fulfilled as agreed

    • Spend optimisation, analytics, benchmarking and reporting tools to provide insights into spending behaviours and identify cost reduction opportunities.
    • Compliance and accuracy verification tools to guarantee every cent of rebate income is tracked and received.
  3. Powerful yet user-friendly member portal for accessing real-time information at helicopter or granular levels.
Will this just add another layer of complexity for our members to navigate?
Effective supplier and rebate management takes time and precision to ensure all money is accurately accounted for. For small business owners who want to focus on their customers this can be a significant burden; for large complex businesses insufficient automation and oversight can lead to tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost rebate income.
COMPRA significantly simplifies the procurement and rebate management process by customising and implementing systems tailored to each member's needs. Members can easily opt into deals, while dashboards offer the desired level of analytics and detail, with support just a phone call or email away.
Why would a supplier want to be a COMPRA partner?
Suppliers, like many businesses, can reduce costs and enhance loyalty by consolidating customers. By collaborating with COMPRA, suppliers gain direct access to a substantial customer base and valuable insights into purchasing behaviours. They can directly engage with their customers via our member portal and be confident in the knowledge deals are being tracked for compliance and accuracy.
Our members are all very individual and may be hard to get involved in a buying program like this. What’s your response?
We recognise some members might doubt the existence of 'great deals', accept the current situation, or be hesitant about the disruptions change can bring. In such cases, we recommend running a pilot program with a few interested members, then showcasing their savings success to the other members. While this approach may take more time, it can help assure members of the advantages of COMPRA before they choose to get involved. Alternatively, our Spend Review phase allows individual member spend to be compared against deals with real cost benefits to base member decision.
Do our members have to opt in to everything?
Members can choose to opt in to those categories and deals that best suit their business needs.
What are the upfront costs?
There are no upfront costs. COMPRA derives its revenue from rebates provided by suppliers. If our deals are not good enough for your members to opt in to, we don’t get paid. Hence it's in our interest to ensure your members receive material benefits from every deal offered.
Our smaller members might be interested, but how can our bigger corporate members who already have buying power benefit?
It is unlikely that even the highest spenders can match the buying power achieved by the economies of scale of COMPRA. Moreover, our rebate management and error detection technologies ensure that every cent in every transaction is precisely processed. In 2023, rebate management technologies developed by our founder enabled the recovery of $72m from errors across 3.3 billion transactions analysed. Additionally, our AI driven data analytics identify patterns and opportunities for future cost reductions, benefitting businesses all sizes.
What’s the difference between the COMPRA model and others?
COMPRA employs proprietary technology to offer holistic Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) procurement services to buying groups and associations:
  1. Strategic deal sourcing and contact management delivery to members via a real time web portal
  2. Scalable, reduced cost services compared to traditional methods.
  3. Integrated AI to provide individual member spend insight and reduction opportunities.
Can COMPRA also manage Goods for Resale (GFR) / direct spend?
Indirect expense categories are generally consistent across most industries, enabling COMPRA to create economies scale of by uniting buying groups and associations. Conversely, Goods for Resale (GFR) tend to be more industry-specific making economies of scale harder top achieve. For this reason, COMPRA concentrates exclusively on Goods Not for Resale (GNFR), providing businesses across Australia and New Zealand access to previously unattainable deals and savings, regardless of their industry or market sector.
How can we ensure the privacy of our organisation’s data when joining the buying group?
We take data privacy extremely seriously. Our founder has extensive experience managing sensitive data on behalf of clients. As such, our systems and processes are built to meet stringent data security obligations. All member data is securely stored and safeguarded using the latest encryption technologies, and we fully comply with relevant privacy laws and regulations. We only collect and share data essential for negotiating group deals, and this information is always anonymised when presented to suppliers. Additionally, we will never share your data with third parties without obtaining your explicit consent.
What happens if a supplier’s quality or service does not meet expectations?
Member satisfaction is a top priority for COMPRA. Our Supplier Management Systems monitor and evaluate supplier performance, allowing us to promptly identify and address any compliance issues. If problems persist our team will engage with involved parties to resolve the matter quickly. Additionally, member feedback is welcome at any time via our web portal.
How will participation impact our relationships with existing suppliers?

Flexibility is a key component of the COMPRA program. Members can select which deals to opt into based on what works best for their business, and are free to maintain existing relationships if preferred.
